Sophia is a real social robot, but her “SophiaPop” persona (music) is partially AI-generated.

In the “SophiaPop” project, a research team used transformer neural networks to generate lyrics & melodies, then human musicians interpreted them, then a custom-trained voice model (CereProc) produced Sophia’s singing voice.
The project is a collaboration of technologists, artists, and AI researchers.
